October Goals UPDATE

Friday, October 31, 2014

This month I set myself four goals. How did I do?? Well let's have a look...
  • Have a wardrobe clear out
Success! I cleared out my wardrobe and can happily say that I donated/sold/threw away about a third of the the clothes I had. Phew! It was a long, exhausting and sometimes frustrating job (a lot of second opinions were needed) but I did it.

  • Rethink my future career
This has been the most difficult goal to achieve, but after a LOT of negotiation, I think I've solved it. I've found a distance learning Masters degree that I'd like to do... Desperately!! The problem was that it includes a compulsory induction week on campus and it didn't look like my work would allow me to go. After a lot of negotiation with not only my boss, but also her boss, and her boss, I finally have permission to go! Woohoo! The Open Day is in November so I'm looking forward to adding that as part of my November Goals.

  • Go to the Ice Bar in London
Yes, we did and it was fantastic! It was a little smaller than I had imagined but it was still such a great experience and I would TOTALLY love to go back! It was freezing and my toes felt like they were going to fall off, but I wish we could've spent longer in there. Let me tell you, it is the most bizarre feeling coming out of a building in the middle of October and feeling warmer than you were inside!!

  • Read 'The Woman In Black'
I always felt a little mediocre about the film version of this story so admittedly I did procrastinate a little with this one... But then my bf took me to see the stage play and I bloomin' loved it! At first it was confusing, but it actually turned out to be SUCH a great interpretation of the story!
The book was quite difficult to read, despite it being fairly recent! I think that it actually helped to create an olden-age Victorian atmosphere - much the way that, if you read a Jane Austen book you can almost hear the horse and carriages in the dialect. I don't want to give away too much if you haven't read it, but it's definitely helped me to understand the parts that the film didn't!
